Sheriff Sage has specialized training in Law Enforcement Intelligence Network (LEIN), Mid-States Organized Crime Information Center (MOCIC), Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar (LEEDS).
	Chief Deputy Brian Rink Hired: 2002 Biography: Brian Rink was appointed Chief Deputy in March 2005. He was hired in November 2002 and had worked previously at the Glenwood Police Department. Brian graduated from the Griswold High School and Northwest Missouri State University. He served in the United States Marines from 1991-1995. Brian is a graduate of the Iowa Law Enforcement academy and is a certified K-9 Handler.
	Deputy Don Lappe Hired: 10/31/1996 Biography: Born in Adair County and raised in Carroll County. Attended Glidden-Ralston High School in Glidden, IA. Deputy Lappe received his certification at the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy on October 1st, 1970. He has specialized training in firearms and chemical agents.
	Deputy Darby McLaren Hired: 8/1/1995 Biography: Born and raised in Atlantic, IA where he attended Atlantic High School. Deputy McLaren received his certification from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy on November 17th 1995. He has specialized training as a drug recognition expert and a drug investigator.
	Deputy John Westering Hired: 2003 Biography: John has lived most of his life in Cass County, Graduating from Atlantic in 1983, he earned a Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Des Moines Area Comm. Coll. in 1985. John has worked as a welder, a County Roads employee, and was a Officer with the Atlantic, Iowa Police Dept. before joining the Cass County Sheriffs Office in 2003.
	Deputy Kyle Quist Hired: 5/1/2005 Biography: Kyle was born in Montgomery County IA. and raised in Stanton IA. He attended Stanton High School and Iowa Lakes Community College. Kyle received ILEA certification in March of 2000. Specialized Training: Drug Interdiction, K-9, Tactical Team, and Dive Team.
	Deputy Charles Misner Hired: 6/1/06 Biography: Born in Atlantic, IA, Charlie graduated from Atlantic High School and the United States Army Infantry Training School in Fort Benning, GA. He was a member of the 212th graduating class of the Iowa Law Enforcement Acadamy and is also a member of the Iowa National Guard for over 19 years during which time he was deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Charlie was previously employed by Montgomery County Secondary Roads Department.
